The Florida Sentinel Bulletin
The Florida Sentinel Bulletin has been publishing for over 74 years and is the Sunshine State’s oldest and largest African American newspaper. Every Tuesday and Friday, the Sentinel was able to sustain its ability to deliver vital information, to the community, without interruption, via its own printing press. This was particularly important during the early years because it prevented those who wanted to silence the calls for justice could not ” stop the presses.” Today, the circulation rivals majority newspapers with editions of 24-60 pages and circulations exceeding 45,000 in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Polk counties. The Florida Sentinel Bulletin continues it’s truth-telling through provocative editorials, columns, features and news stories that have improved the quality of life of communities in Tampa Bay and Central Florida for more than 7 decades.
