For many generations, the black press has maintained a constant information presence in the African American community. These publications managed to communicate the struggles, and victories of the Black diaspora despite the racism and other hurdles that plagued a people who helped to build and shape the greatest nation in the world. The Black Press Association of Florida, Inc., is an offshoot of the Black Owned Media Association that was established in 2005. The BPAOF continues to uphold the 192-year-old pledge to educate, inform and uplift the community. Our organization boasts over 350 years of combined publication in the Sunshine State’s media markets, reaching 900,000 readers, viewers and listeners each week. Our association members have worked together for over 14 years and remains committed to being, “The Voice of the Black Community.”
